Delaine Mast has been involved in the tennis industry on a local, regional, and national level for over 20 years. Currently, Delaine is the Executive Director of Tennis Central, a 501c3 non-profit association located in Lancaster, PA. Tennis Central serves over 2000 junior players in the Lancaster community with programming and leadership education annually.
In fact, Delaine was recognized by the International Tennis Hall of Fame with the Tennis Educational Merit Award. The award is presented annually to a man and a woman who have made notable contributions at the national level and have demonstrated leadership and creative skills in areas such as instruction, writing, organization, and promotion of the game of tennis.
Delaine has served tennis for more than 30 years wearing countless hats including high school and college coach, mentor at inner-city youth programs, and National Director for World Team Tennis Recreational Leagues, co-founder of the Junior Tennis Corporation of American among many others which has provided opportunities for more than one million players. Over the years, Mast has served on over 20 USTA national committees or task forces. She was a Director at Large on the USTA Board of Directors from 2011 to 2012 and served as Middle States President from 1999-2000.
Among her colleagues, Mast is heralded as an agent of change who has helped to build communities, boards, partnerships between organizations and programs. Mast's special projects within the sport have ranged from securing funding to installing blended lines on city tennis courts, to an Adopt-a-Unit program in which high school teams send care packages to military units overseas. Delaine is a member of both USPTA and PTR. She is serving on the USTA High School Committee and is the Vice-President of the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR). In this role, Delaine is setting policies, overseeing budgets, coordinating with USTA on accreditation for educational programs, and promoting tennis to women, hoping to grow their participation in the sport. Locally, Delaine is focused on Tennis Central, a National Junior Tennis and Learning Chapter whose mission is to serve up opportunities to strengthen the community through tennis and education. Nationally, Delaine is involved in building World Team Tennis (WTT) recreational leagues across the country. WTT, created by Billie Jean King, promotes the sport of tennis to both adults and juniors. WTT Community Tennis operates team leagues and events, providing grassroots programming throughout the year.
Other national accolades include the 2017 International tennis Hall of Fame Educational Merit Award; 2016 Eve Kraft Community Service Award; 2013 USTA Middle States Hall of Fame; 2013 USTA Middle States Mangan Award.
